Oakes Auto Group, a Kansas City area automotive group, seeks a Corporate Controller to lead accounting operations across multiple locations. The role focuses on accurate reporting, internal controls, and process improvements to support growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting or financial management experience.
• Experience with financial reporting and internal controls.
• Ability to lead multi-location accounting teams.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and closing processes.
• Experience with dealership/accounting systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting and financial operations across Oakes Auto Group, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and accountability.
• Manage monthly and year-end closing processes at both the dealership and group levels.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to manufacturers, lenders, and company ownership.
• Oversee cash management, floorplan accounting, account reconciliations, and offset account optimization.
• Establish, maintain, and improve internal accounting controls, financial policies, and compliance procedures.
• Oversee insurance-related financial matters, risk management, and loss reserve processes.
• Provide technical leadership, guidance, and support to dealership Office Managers and accounting teams.
• Standardize accounting practices, dealership management systems (DMS), and financial reporting processes across the organization.
• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies, operational challenges, and inefficiencies.
• Monitor financial performance and provide insights to support leadership decisions.
• Partner with executive leadership to improve financial processes and support organizational goals.
• Remove operational barriers and help accounting teams work more effectively across departments.
• Report directly to the Integrator and communicate key financial information, risks, and opportunities.
