Job summary

Hawkins HR Consulting, LLC is assisting a client in recruiting an R&D Engineer - Glass. The role focuses on applying glass engineering knowledge to design, develop, and implement innovative technologies to improve bending capabilities for automotive glass and to support manufacturing centers globally.

Responsibilities include evaluating processes, implementing improvements, and collaborating with multiple departments.

Qualifications

BS in Ceramics, Materials Science or related major preferred or equivalent experience.
Experience with glass manufacturing or development engineering (≥2 years).
Strong problem-solving skills and good communication.
Willingness to travel ~20% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

Apply engineering knowledge to R&D and manufacturing glass products and processes.
Evaluate feasibility of processes for new automotive programs.
Support design/implementation of processes to improve quality and performance.
Assist in transferring R&D projects to global manufacturing facilities.
Collaborate with manufacturing and other departments to identify improvements.
Conduct trials and analyze data to develop new or improved products.
Maintain accurate records and communicate test results to management.
Provide input to design/installation of tooling for testing and development.
Maintain preventive maintenance on R&D equipment.
Troubleshoot equipment and processes; manage risk assessments on new gear.
