Job summary

AGC Automotive Americas is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer in Bellefontaine, OH to optimize processes, manage lean inventory, and support JIT manufacturing. You will leverage CAD design tools, PLC programming, and robotics experience to improve efficiency and reduce waste.

The role requires a BS in engineering with 5+ years in an engineering function, leadership experience, and strong problem‑solving skills.

Qualifications

BS in engineering or related field.
Five+ years of experience in an engineering function including soldering experience.
3 years of leadership experience.
Extensive experience/knowledge in soldering processes, controls, tooling, and equipment for automotive glass.
Experience with 2-D & 3-D CAD systems (Catia, AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
Understanding of PLC programming (Allen Bradley and Omron preferred).
Worked with robotics (Fanuc & Yaskawa).
Injection molding experience is beneficial.
Knowledge of and ability to utilize problem-solving tools such as Kaizen Spiral, Six Sigma, Fishbone, 8D, etc.
Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project).
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong process knowledge and skills.
Ability to travel as required.

Responsibilities

Maintain accurate inventory records and support production with materials availability.
Reduce inventory variance and support JIT manufacturing.
Ensure safety and regulatory compliance in production areas.
Lead and participate in problem-solving for quality, maintenance, or process issues.
Analyze workflow, space, and equipment layouts to improve efficiency.
Provide production cost estimates and monitor schedules and KPI trends.
Develop and present process flow and PFMEA documents.
Train associates on equipment operation and work instructions.
Coordinate resources for process and maintenance support.
Develop and mentor other engineers and coordinators.
