Job summary

Pep Boys, now part of the Mavis Tire family, is hiring full-time General Service Technicians to support our automotive service and tire centers in the Elgin, IL area. We offer competitive weekly pay, a $800 new hire bonus, paid training, and opportunities for career growth.

You will perform essential maintenance and tire services, including tire mounting/balancing, oil changes, fluid checks, and vehicle inspections.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Be reliable, punctual, and willing to learn.
• Be comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on automotive environment.
• Have a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality service.
• Previous automotive experience is a plus, but not required; paid training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Dismounting, mounting, rotating, and balancing tires.
• Performing flat tire repairs.
• Completing oil and filter changes.
• Checking and topping off vehicle fluids.
• Performing basic vehicle maintenance and inspections.
• Identifying visible tire and maintenance concerns.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Following established safety and service procedures.
• Helping ensure quality service and timely completion of customer vehicles.
