Job summary

Pep Boys, now part of the Mavis Tire family, is hiring full-time General Service Technicians for centers in the Waukegan, IL area. We offer paid training, competitive weekly pay, weekly incentive compensation, and growth opportunities within a nationwide automotive service network.

As a General Service Technician, you’ll perform essential tire services and preventive maintenance, with room to advance to roles such as Alignment Technician or Automotive Mechanic as you gain experience.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Be reliable, punctual, and willing to learn.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, hands-on automotive environment.
• Commitment to safety, teamwork and quality service.

Responsibilities

• Dismounting, mounting, rotating, and balancing tires.
• Performing flat tire repairs.
• Completing oil and filter changes.
• Checking and topping off vehicle fluids.
• Performing basic vehicle maintenance and inspections.
• Identifying visible tire and maintenance concerns.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Following established safety and service procedures.
• Helping ensure quality service and timely completion of customer vehicles.
