Job summary

UPS seeks a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to maintain a safe, reliable, and cost-efficient vehicle fleet. You will supervise mechanics, monitor maintenance costs, and coordinate with internal customers and vendors to ensure audits and repairs meet safety standards.

You will identify cost-saving strategies, manage equipment inspections, and lead a team to uphold operational readiness and asset integrity in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of mechanical fundamentals, maintenance, diagnosis and repair to vehicle or aircraft fleet operation.
• Ability to manage equipment repair and oversee the correction of problems with tools, machinery, and other standard technical equipment.
• Ability to manage inspections, physical assets, and working relationships with vendors.

Responsibilities

• Schedules preventative maintenance inspections and reviews results, monitors repairs and performs vehicle audits.
• Analyzes equipment failures to determine root causes and plans repairs with internal and external groups.
• Ensures adequate inventory levels (e.g., parts, tires) to support business processes.
• Adheres to purchasing limits and cost-control procedures.
• Reviews and approves automotive expenses.
• Determines employee training needs and conducts performance evaluations.
