Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an Automotive Office Manager to oversee the dealership's accounting and financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting and strong internal controls. The role collaborates with the Dealer Principal, General Manager, and accounting staff to monitor performance.

Qualifications

• Prior controller or senior accounting experience in a dealership.
• Knowledge of dealership accounting principles and financial statements.
• Experience with automotive DMS systems and manufacturer reporting.
• Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all dealership accounting functions including GL, AP, AR, cash management and financial reporting.
• Ensure timely month-end and year-end closings.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and dealership reports.
• Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and reconcile accounts.
• Monitor cash flow and banking activities.
• Review and approve transactions per policy.
• Review deal paperwork and posting of vehicle transactions.
• Monitor floorplan accounts, curtailments, interest expense, and inventory.
• Reconcile vehicle inventory and related receivables.
• Review AR aging and ensure timely collections.
• Verify manufacturer incentives, rebates and other receivables are recorded.
