Job summary

Carson Honda, a Sonic Automotive family dealership, is seeking an Automotive Express Technician in Carson, CA to perform lubrication and routine maintenance on customer vehicles. This on-site role offers hands-on training and opportunities for growth within a large automotive group.

You will work with a supportive team, use modern lubrication equipment, and ensure safety and quality on every vehicle processed. Minimum two years in a dealership setting preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a technician’s helper or apprentice in an automobile dealership.
• Authorized to work in the USA and able to pass pre-employment screening (background, MVR, drug test, credit, license).

Responsibilities

• Perform all lubrication services.
• Inspect customer vehicles for essential issues and refer repairs to Service Advisor.
• Operate and maintain lubrication equipment.
• Process repair orders and service lifts.
• Lubricate vehicles while checking for additional service needs.
• Keep the customer’s car clean and protect equipment.
• Ensure lifts and equipment are in safe working order.

(The Lube Technician Position has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. Wages include Base Hourly Compensation of between $17.00 and $19.00)

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform all lubrication services.
• Perform thorough check of customer’s car (i.e., battery, lights, tires), referring all needed repairs and preventive maintenance to Service Advisor.
• Operate and maintain all lubrication equipment.
• Receive repair order from either the Service Salesman or the Production Foreman and proceed to service lift.
• Lubricate entire car while looking for other items which may need repair.
• Ensure that the customer’s car is kept clean.
• Make certain all equipment is in proper working order, especially the lifts.
• Use adequate, but not excessive, amounts of materials and supplies.
• Must follow all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report any and all accidents to a manager or supervisor.
• Knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance.
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Two years of experience as a technician’s helper or apprentice in an automobile dealership.
• Good judgment.
• All applicants must be authorized to work in the USA
• All applicants must perform duties and responsibilities in a safe manner
• All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report, and valid driver license
