Job summary

Socket.dev in Michigan is seeking an Encapsulation Design Engineer to ensure CAD design, drawing, and data integrity for current and new opportunities. You will lead feasibility studies, design reviews, and bridge communications between OEMs and the company.

This role involves collaborating with customers, managing design changes from customer to plant, and supporting change management, with travel to customer sites and manufacturing floors as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or sciences.
• Experience with automotive OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers.
• Strong CAD and data integrity focus.
• Ability to read and interpret safety and maintenance instructions.

Responsibilities

• Feasibility study for design scenarios and changes.
• Lead 3D CAD drawing and math data using CATIA/Teamcenter.
• Lead quotation work and communicate with customers on BOM, feasibility, cost impact.
• Manage design changes from customer to plant, including file transfer.
• Coordinate with OEMs and internal procedures (ECN/WERS/DFMEA/Validation Plan).
• Track product assembly to vehicle and resolve design issues.
• Evaluate encapsulated product feasibility with PVC/TPE/PU materials.
