Job summary

Ford in Michigan is seeking a seasoned CAD Product Development Engineer to design vehicle systems with a systems approach. You will create 3D models, CAD architectures, and prototypes for high-volume manufacturing.

You will collaborate across design, engineering, and manufacturing teams, applying GD&T and FEM concepts to ensure quality, manufacturability, and performance across diverse vehicle programs. The role is hybrid, onsite most days.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in ME, Mechatronics, or related field.
• 3+ years in automotive product development.
• 2+ years designing in Catia, 3DX, NX, or SolidWorks.
• GD&T proficiency.
• Ability to use 3D CAD as collaboration tool.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop geometrical architectures using 3D CAD, CAE, and physical prototypes.
• Create vehicle CAD models for high-volume manufacture.
• Ideate with engineers and designers on new solutions.
• Balance attributes with concept, business case, and guiding principles.
