Job summary

Alps Alpine North America, Inc. in Auburn Hills, MI, is seeking a fabrication technician to assemble acoustic enclosures, modify vehicle interiors, and install wiring per specs.

You will create prototypes, develop testing fixtures, and manage lab/workshop organization to support product development. Ideal candidates read technical drawings, operate CNC and machine shop tools, and comply with safety and quality standards (SDS, TS16949/IATF).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in fabrication, machining, or welding is a plus.
• Min 2+ years of experience in a fabrication or technician role preferred.
• Proficient with fabrication tools and machinery.
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with SDS sheets.
• Familiarity with quality assurance and safety standards in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate acoustic enclosures, component housing, and mounts as required.
• Modify the interior structure of vehicles to fit components and install wiring per specifications.
• Create prototypes for product development activities.
• Create testing and evaluation fixtures.
• Manage the lab and woodshop, organizing tools and materials.
