Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Technical Specialist to provide technical leadership for door modules, window regulator systems and door glass across vehicle programs. The role involves guiding development, integration, validation and production readiness to ensure designs meet functional, performance, quality, cost, timing and customer expectations.

The successful candidate will work across design, manufacturing, safety, quality, purchasing, suppliers and vehicle program teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in automotive body/closure systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Experience with door systems, regulators, glass or related components.
• Knowledge of power window, anti-pinch, express-up/down systems.
• Experience from concept through design release to production launch.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, GD&T and tolerance analysis.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical SME for door modules, window regulators, door glass and interfaces.
• Define component and system requirements, specs, design guidelines and acceptance criteria.
• Lead technical reviews of concepts, designs, drawings, GD&T and tolerances.
• Guide supplier engineering activities and production readiness.
• Coordinate validation plans, test execution and data review.
• Lead root-cause investigations using structured problem-solving methods.
• Communicate technical recommendations to program leadership.
• Maintain technical documentation and change records.
