Program Summary

The Marine Corps Prepositioning Program (MCPP) is based in Jacksonville, Florida. We provide maintenance and logistic services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) in support of this program. For over 35 years, we have planned, coordinated, and executed maintenance and logistic services for ground combat vehicles and support equipment for USMC Expeditionary Forces.

Job Title

Automotive Diesel Mechanic

Job Summary

Maintains, services, inspects, and repairs combustion-powered automotive vehicles, over-the-road trucks, and comparable vehicles such as light combat vehicles and trucks, as well as other motor transport equipment. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Performs operator, intermediate, and limited major rebuild levels of maintenance, including spot painting. Performs other tasks as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Four years of directly related work experience.
• Certificate from a vocational school or recognized source in electrical or automotive repair preferred.
• Completion of automotive mechanics courses and certifications, including MVAC 609 Technician Certification, and advanced motor transport maintenance courses.
• Working knowledge of heavy-duty machinery, engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, and related components.
• Ability to read and interpret parts lists, manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
• Understanding of vehicle components and systems, including suspension, engine, transmission, and others.
• Ability to utilize technical manuals and repair instructions.
• Valid State Motor Vehicle Operator License and the ability to obtain a Tactical Operator License.
• Ability to comply with safety, quality standards, and schedules.
• U.S. Citizen and able to obtain/maintain CAC and Base Access.
