Job summary

Gilbert Chevrolet Inc. in Okeechobee, FL is seeking detail-oriented team members to maintain vehicle cleanliness to dealership standards.

This entry-level role supports the service and sales teams by ensuring every car leaves the lot in pristine condition. Responsibilities include washing, cleaning interiors and exteriors, applying protective coatings, maintaining detailing supplies, and coordinating with lot staff to keep vehicles customer-ready.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently or as part of a team.
• Physical stamina to stand, bend, and work with hands for long periods.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Wash, clean, and detail vehicle exteriors and interiors to dealership standards.
• Inspect vehicles for cleanliness and report any damage or concerns to management.
• Use cleaning solutions, buffers, vacuums, pressure washers, and detailing equipment properly and safely.
• Apply protective coatings to vehicle surfaces.
• Clean and condition vehicle upholstery, carpets, dashboards, and trim.
• Review scheduled unit line-up before and after each job to ensure priorities are met.
• Ensure all vehicles are inspected and customer-ready before pickup or delivery.
• Safely move vehicles in and out of bays, lots, or staging areas as needed.
• Maintain inventory of detailing supplies and request restocks when necessary.
• Follow all company safety procedures when handling chemicals and equipment.
• Assist with lot organization, including staging and arranging vehicles as needed.
• Always maintain a clean and organized work area.

Required skills and qualifications

• HS diploma or GED
• Previous experience in auto detailing, car wash, or related field preferred (but not required)
• Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Ability to follow directions and work independently or as part of a team
• Physical stamina to stand, bend, and work with hands for long periods
• Physical ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment during adverse weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and operate equipment safely
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
