Job summary

Summit Polymers seeks a Specialist in Corporate Finance (Estimating) in Michigan to develop cost estimates for new product quotations and RFQs. You will coordinate with engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, and sales to ensure quotes reflect design changes and cost objectives.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of automotive cost estimating or financial analysis, strong Excel skills, and the ability to analyze BOMs and drawings for cost drivers. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of cost estimating, pricing, or financial analysis in the automotive industry.
• Strong knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes and raw materials; Excel and costing software proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Develop cost estimates for new product quotations, engineering changes, and customer RFQs.
• Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, and sales to gather data.
• Analyze BOMs and drawings to determine cost drivers and feasibility.
• Prepare detailed cost breakdowns using costing software and internal systems.
• Support pricing strategy by analyzing benchmarks and customer targets.
• Monitor cost variances and contribute to cost reduction initiatives.
