Williams Auto Group in Elmira, NY seeks an experienced Controller to oversee the dealership's accounting function, close processes, and internal controls, delivering timely financial reporting to leadership.

The candidate should bring seven or more years in automotive dealership accounting, CPA or equivalent, strong Excel skills, and the ability to partner with directors and managers to improve profitability and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required or equivalent experience.
• CPA or other professional designation is preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in automotive dealerships.
• Experience with month-end and year-end close processes is essential.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the accounting function for dealership operations.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Prepare and review dealership financial statements and management reports.
• Analyze financial results and communicate findings to leadership.
• Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with policies and standards.
• Support audits and respond to audit requests.
