Job summary

Lit​hia & Driveway, Collierville-based dealership accounting team, seeks an Accounting Manager/Controller to lead financial operations. You will oversee month-end closings, ensure ledger accuracy, and drive internal controls in collaboration with operations leaders.

You will manage a 2–10 person staff, guide budgeting up to $8MM, and support stores generating up to $200MM in revenue. A Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or 3+ years of dealership experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or 3+ years dealership accounting experience.
• Experience in team leadership and the auto industry (preferred).
• Proficiency in accounting processes, reconciliation, and financial analysis.
• Ability to interpret financial results and recommend actions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain dealership financial records and month-end closings.
• Review general ledger schedules and ensure accuracy.
• Monitor income statements and internal controls according to LAD policies.
• Oversee accounts receivable collections, bank postings, and reconciliations.
• Review payroll and accounts payable for accuracy and timeliness.
• Reconcile vehicle parts inventory and support fixed asset reporting.
• Resolve issues related to vehicle documentation (title/registration).
• Lead a team of 2–10 staff and partner with dealership leadership.
• Support budgeting up to $8MM and stores with up to $200MM in revenue.

You will work directly with operations leaders to make strategic business decisions and understand their financial data.You will be also a manager of a team that helps inspire and help their employees gain new skills and progress their careers. You will report to the Regional Director of Accounting Operations.

Location:

Compensation Range: $55,000-115,000, with a typical starting range of $70,000-115,000. Actual pay offered may vary depending on experience, job-related knowledge, and physical location. Final compensation will be established through the interview process in accordance with applicable pay equity and transparency laws.

What You’ll Do

• Financial Oversight: Maintain dealership financial records, ensure accurate month-end closings, and review general ledger schedules.
• Compliance & Controls: Monitor operational income statements, conduct fraud prevention reviews, and ensure adherence to internal controls and LAD financial policies.
• Cash Flow & Banking: Oversee accounts receivable collections, daily bank postings, and bank reconciliations.
• Payroll & Payables: Review or prepare payroll and accounts payable for accuracy and timeliness.
• Inventory & Fixed Assets: Conduct physical vehicle inventories, reconcile parts inventory, and support fixed asset reporting.
• Title & Registration: Resolve issues related to inbound and outbound vehicle documentation.
• Leadership & Collaboration: Partner with dealership leadership (especially the GM), manage a team of 2-10 staff, and support hiring, training, and performance management.
• Manufacturer Relations: Ensure compliance with manufacturer programs, warranty claims, and reporting requirements.
• Strategic Contributions: Participate in budgeting (up to $8MM), support stores with up to $200MM in revenue, and contribute to M&A activities.

What You’ll Bring
