Job summary

Gerry Lane Chevrolet in Baton Rouge, LA seeks a Body Shop Receptionist with excellent customer service to welcome guests, answer calls, schedule estimates, and keep customers informed on repair status. This role may assist with cashiering for Parts and Service.

The ideal candidate is friendly, organized, and reliable, with basic accounting skills and comfort handling cash. Experience in a dealership or body shop is a plus, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer-facing roles, receptionist or cashier preferred.
• Automotive dealership or body shop exposure is a plus.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools encouraged.
• Ability to handle cash and process payments accurately.

Responsibilities

• Greet walk-in customers and check them in for estimates, drops, and pickups.
• Answer body shop phone lines, determine caller’s business, and direct calls to estimator or manager.
• Schedule estimate appointments and repair drop-offs.
• Provide customers with timely updates on the status of their repairs.
• Coordinate with insurance companies, adjusters, and rental car providers as needed.
• Open and maintain repair order files and keep customer and insurance documentation organized.
• Handle customer concerns diplomatically and refer them to the appropriate individual for resolution.
