Placements24 seeks an Automotive Body Control Module Engineer to design, develop, and test ECU software for body electronics in modern vehicles. The role involves collaboration with hardware teams and testing across vehicle systems in a hybrid work setting at our facility in East London, ZA.

Applicants should have a strong background in embedded systems, automotive electronics, and hands-on experience with LIN/CAN/Ethernet and UDS protocols.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years of automotive embedded software development, focusing on body electronics.
• Proficiency in embedded C programming.
• Experience with LIN, CAN, Ethernet
• Understanding of UDS and automotive diagnostics.
• Experience with Git and embedded development tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop embedded software for BCMs and related ECUs.
• Implement features for lighting, windows, locks, mirrors, HVAC control.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to define ECU specs and integration.
• Develop and execute software test plans including unit and vehicle-level testing.
• Debug and troubleshoot software and hardware issues in body electronics.
• Ensure software compliance with automotive standards and customer requirements.
• Participate in code reviews and support production launches.
