Job description

Job Title: Automotive Attendant

Join to apply for the Automotive Attendant role at City of Winston-Salem.

Responsibilities include:

1. Performing service tasks related to fueling, washing, tire services, parts inventory, motor pool, and routine repairs that do not require extensive mechanical knowledge.
2. Completing PM "A" services, changing tires and batteries, chasing parts, preparing motor pool vehicles, shuttling vehicles for outsourced repairs, and supporting fueling and washing programs.

Qualifications:

• Mechanical aptitude, good communication, and logical reasoning skills.
• CDL driver’s license or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
• Basic set of hand tools.

Desirable Qualifications: High school diploma/GED, six months of work experience, and formal training.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift/move up to 100 lbs, maneuver up to 1 mile, crawl, climb, operate medium equipment, and work with objects of various sizes. Good communication skills and normal hearing are required. Work is both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to weather, smells, sights, loud sounds, and long periods of standing. Reasonable accommodations may be provided.

Additional Information: This position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime pay.
