Job summary

Symbotic is seeking a Shift Manager to lead the site operations team at a customer’s facility, focusing on daily activity, safety, and quality. You will partner with the Automation General Manager and the Customer Operations org to drive operational excellence and KPI performance on the robotic material handling system.

You will manage staffing, train and develop staff, and ensure adherence to SOPs while coordinating with customer management and Symbotic HQ.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or Industrial Automation or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of management and operations manufacturing or related field.
• Strong knowledge of automation, warehousing, and business processes.
• Leads cross-functional teams and interacts with executives/customers to drive excellence.
• Ability to work independently following procedures and manuals.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety commitments per OSHA, Symbotic, and customer processes.
• Manage a team of hourly and salaried employees to support customer operations.
• Execute SOPs to drive performance, adapting to changing conditions.
• Staff all functions for operating patterns; conduct performance reviews.
• Coach the team to address issues; develop standard procedures and documentation.
• Train and develop team members; motivate to exceed customer expectations.
• Communicate with local customer management and Symbotic HQ teams.
• Monitor system performance and report trends; present solutions.
• Maintain KPI reporting per contractual agreements.
• Conduct accident investigations per guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
