Job summary

Symbotic seeks a Shift Manager to lead the site operations team at a customer site, ensuring day-to-day activities, safety, and quality. You will partner with site leadership to drive performance and reliability of the robotic material handling system.

Reporting to the Automation General Manager, you will manage both hourly and salaried staff, implement SOPs, develop staff, review performance, and communicate with customer management and Symbotic HQ to achieve best-in-class results.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of management and operations experience in manufacturing or related field.
• Strong knowledge of automation, warehousing and business processes.
• Ability to motivate cross-functional or cross-facility teams.
• Regularly interacts with executives and customers to drive operational excellence.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety commitments per OSHA, company, and customer processes.
• Manage a team of hourly and salaried employees to support customer hours.
• Execute SOPs to drive performance, adjusting to business conditions.
• Staffing across functions, train and develop employees, set goals.
• Prepare performance reviews and coach the team.
• Develop standards and documentation for problem handling.
• Train and enhance team performance; monitor KPI reporting.
• Communicate with local customer management and Symbotic HQ.
• Investigate incidents per guidelines and document findings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
