Job summary

Amcor in Mundelein, IL is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Technical Specialist to maintain safety and optimize operations across a packaging facility. You will design, install, and support vision systems, troubleshoot production issues, and drive waste reduction and quality improvements.

You will mentor operators, collaborate with engineers, and lead validation and acceptance testing for automation projects, employing Cognex, Keyence, Allen Bradley, and Beckhoff technologies to boost

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 3–5 years of experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in vision system installation and application.
• 2–3 years of experience with pneumatics, conveyors, sensors, robots, AMRs, vision systems, HMIs and PLCs.
• Experience with Allen Bradley or Beckhoff PLC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety as a priority while improving production quality, waste and productivity.
• Support World Class Operations Management implementation on teams or pillars.
• Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing problems and drive corrective actions.
• Train operators on new equipment, procedures and modifications.
• Develop and document standard operating procedures and validation activities.
• Lead vision system projects including Cognex/Keyence integrations and documentation.
