Job summary

Ferguson is hiring a Valve Technician to assemble automated packages and support valve and actuator systems. The role requires reading schematics, testing packages, and strict adherence to safety and DOT rules.

Expect travel up to 25% and a start pay of $25 per hour, with overtime possible in a fast-paced industrial environment. Hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with potential weekend work based on project demand.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years experience is preferred but not required.
• Valve & actuator industrial experience highly preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid state issued license is required.
• Follow all DOT standards and regulations.
• Must currently have, acquire, and/or maintain a valid DOT Medical card in order to meet driver requirements.
• Ability to read and understand customer technical data and schematics.
• Ability to multi-task and meet order deadlines.
• Knowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
• Be goal oriented, self-motivated, and able to meet deadlines, build relationships, and enjoy a team atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for assembly of all automated packages.
• Follow all established SOPs for valve automation and maintain a safe, organized workspace.
• Set up, use and maintain tools and equipment in the automation center.
• Interact courteously with inside/outside sales, management, and warehouse staff.
• Provide professional interaction with customers about automated packages.
• Troubleshoot automated packages in house and in the field to perform necessary work and repairs.
• Assist with developing automated valve sales training program.
• Perform functional automated valve testing, record and store data.
• Work with inspectors to meet customer demands.
• Willing to travel up to 25% and possibly stay overnight for field service projects.
