Job summary

Ferguson is seeking a Valve Technician in New Jersey to assemble automated packages, troubleshoot on-site and in the field, and support training initiatives. The role requires DOT compliance, 21+ years old, and attention to safety with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid state issued license is required.
• Follow all DOT standards and regulations.
• Must currently have, acquire, and maintain a valid DOT Medical card.
• 3–5 years experience preferred.
• Valve & actuator industrial experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of computers.
• Ability to read and understand customer technical data and schematics.
• Ability to multi-task and meet order deadlines.
• Knowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
• Be goal oriented, self-motivated and a team player.
• Positive attitude and strong communication skills.
• Able to learn quickly.

Responsibilities

• As a Valve Technician, assemble automated packages.
• Follow SOPs for valve automation and maintain a safe workspace.
• Set up, use and maintain tools and equipment in the automation center.
• Court eous interaction with inside/outside sales, management and warehouse personnel.
• Interact with customers when addressing questions about automated packages.
• Troubleshoot automated packages in house and in the field.
• Assist with developing automated valve sales training program.
• Perform functional automated valve testing, record and store data.
• Work with inspectors to meet customer demands.
• Travel up to 25% may be required, including overnight stays.
• May be responsible for providing driver duties.
