Job summary

IDD Aerospace Corporation is seeking an Automation Engineer to design, implement, and maintain manufacturing automation and testing systems. You will independently drive defined automation projects and collaborate with senior engineers to streamline processes on the factory floor.

The role requires SolidWorks proficiency, Python or C# experience, and hands-on manufacturing exposure. Expect on-site work in the Puget Sound area with strong emphasis on LEAN and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., CS, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical).
• 3–6 years of professional automation, manufacturing engineering, or robotics experience.
• 2+ years programming in Python or C#; 2+ years with SolidWorks or CAD software.
• 1+ year on manufacturing floor environment; U.S. Person per ITAR/EAR

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automation systems for manufacturing and testing, including robotic test platforms.
• Perform fault isolation across mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software interfaces.
• Build prototypes using SolidWorks, 3D printing, and low-volume/high-mix methods.
• Author service docs: setup, calibration, troubleshooting, work instructions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design intent and calibration.
