Job summary

SimVentions seeks a Test Engineer to join the NSWCDD Dahlgren on-site team in Dahlgren, VA. You will design and maintain automated test scripts, develop detailed test plans, and execute manual and automated testing across multiple levels, coordinating with developers and government customers.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of software/testing experience, Linux proficiency, and strong requirements traceability skills, with excellent communication for daily interactions.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software/testing experience or equivalent education
• Experience running/writing automation scripts or code
• Comfortably reviewing C++ code
• Experience using Linux systems
• Proven ability to trace requirements to tests and manage artifacts
• Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to customers
• Strong teamwork and multi-tasking with limited supervision

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks
• Write detailed test plans, test descriptions, and test cases tied to requirements
• Execute manual and automated testing (static, dynamic, integration, system-level)
• Perform requirements traceability using DOORS and other tools
• Identify, document, and track software defects; collaborate with developers
• Review peers’ test documentation and provide feedback
• Participate in Agile Sprint meetings and CCB activities
• Interface directly with government customers daily
• Occasionally present technical testing documentation
