Job summary

Baxter Healthcare in Batesville, IN is seeking an Automation Technician to install, maintain, and optimize warehouse automation systems. You will troubleshoot sensors, servos, and control components, while reporting on capabilities and opportunities for improvements.

The role requires 5+ years in automation within a warehousing context, strong mechanical and communication skills, and an associate degree or higher in related fields.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Experience in warehouse automation and related technology.
• Strong mechanical skills and good communication.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Associate degree preferred in electrical engineering, automation, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in automation and warehousing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to environmental, health and safety SOPs, equipment, policies and procedures, including any department specific requirements.
• Install, maintain, and replace automation systems at key points in the production process
• Troubleshoot non-functioning components including servos, sensors, and control components
• Log equipment usage, parts replacement, and scheduled maintenance to ensure maximum functionality
• Identifying areas for improvement in automated processes and contributing to system upgrades or modifications
• Collaborate with engineers, operators, and other technicians to ensure smooth operation of automated systems
• Periodically report to leadership regarding automation capabilities and status
• Performs other duties as assigned.
