Job summary

Baxter International Inc. seeks an Automation Technician to install, maintain, and replace automation systems across the warehouse. You will troubleshoot components, log usage, and deliver reports on current capabilities and future opportunities.

This specialized role requires engineering and project management experience. The successful candidate will act as a SME for leadership, collaborate with engineers and operators, and drive up-time and system upgrades in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Outstanding organizational skills and ability to plan and implement resolutions to technical problems in a time-sensitive manner.
• Experience in a warehouse environment, particularly as it relates to automation technology.
• Excellent proficiency in mechanical work and strong communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments in a fast-paced environment.
• Associate degree preferred in electrical engineering, automation, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience in automation and warehousing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to all environmental, health and safety SOP’s, equipment, policies and procedures, including any department specific requirements.
• Install, maintain, and replace automation systems at key points in the production process
• Troubleshoot non-functioning components including servos, sensors, and control components
• Log equipment usage, parts replacement, and scheduled maintenance to ensure maximum functionality
• Identifying areas for improvement in automated processes and contributing to system upgrades or modifications
• Collaborate with engineers, operators, and other technicians to ensure smooth operation of automated systems
• Periodically report to leadership regarding automation capabilities and status
• Performs other duties as assigned
