Job summary

MAI Animal Health is seeking an Automation Technician to support site automation across operations, engineering, and maintenance. You will manage commissioning, develop automation plans, and collaborate with leaders to meet engineering goals.

The role requires PLCs, robotics, and systems integration experience in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. The successful candidate will troubleshoot complex systems, interface with suppliers, and maintain site procedures and standards.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in electro-mechanical or similar field.
• Experience interfacing automation and robotics with various equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot existing processes and systems.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in PLCs, robotic programming, and systems integration.
• Advanced MS Office skills and ability to quickly learn other software.
• Experience with GMPs, ISO 9001 and ISO 13485.
• Experience in plastics and injection molding industries preferred.
• Six Sigma/Lean experience in a production environment preferred.
• Experience with Vision Inspection Systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage commissioning and qualification for automation systems and develop quality standards.
• Assist in developing and maintaining an automation plan.
• Ensure function aligns with engineering goals and leadership objectives.
• Function as a team player for exclusive process automation systems.
• Interface with suppliers and staff on automation issues.
• Own and manage site procedures and technical standards for automation.
• Resolve relatively complex problems independently.
• Build relationships with leadership and production teams to improve quality.
• All other duties as assigned.
