Job summary

Constellium is seeking an Automation Technician to provide plant-wide technical support for automation and data acquisition systems. You will assist in implementing automation projects, perform bug fixes, and contribute to improvements under senior supervision.

The role encompasses after-hours support, documentation, and collaboration with stakeholders to ensure reliable control systems across the facility.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline from an ABET-accredited program.
Entry level to three years of experience, preferred.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings.
Experience with PLC's or other control systems such as Siemens, Modicon, Allen-Bradley or equivalent preferred.
Proficiency in ladder logic, structured text, and function block diagrams.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support for control systems throughout the facility including after-hours support.
Troubleshoot and debug existing controls packages for optimal performance, including PLCs, HMIs, drives, ladder logic, networks and related components.
Apply basic engineering principles to analyze issues within our systems and propose solutions.
Assist in the design and implementation of user-friendly HMIs to interface with operators.
Create and maintain detailed documentation of controls programs, configurations, best practices, and changes.
