Job summary

Constellium Muscle Shoals is seeking an Automation Engineer to apply technology to streamline and automate manufacturing processes at the Alabama plant. The role covers planning, implementation, and monitoring of automation initiatives to improve efficiency and reliability of production lines.

The engineer will design, test and install automation solutions, develop documentation, program automated components and provide post-implementation training and support to ensure smooth operation and

Qualifications

Engineering degree or technical degree with years of plant experience.
Design, validation and troubleshooting skills required.
Proficiency with schematics and PLC programming.
Willingness for remote after-hours support.

Responsibilities

Identifying new opportunities for automation and design
Management of a project team when necessary
Designing new automation equipment or processes
Simulating and testing these processes or equipment to ensure they function as desired
Development of documentation for the new equipment and processes
Programming new automated components to the manufacturing process
Developing and maintaining clear and accurate documentation of automation equipment or processes
Provide training where necessary – after implementing new processes or equipment, or changes to existing ones
Troubleshooting automated processes or equipment when errors occur
