Job summary

Constellium's Ravenswood, WV plant is seeking an Automation Technician to provide plant-wide automation and data acquisition support. You will assist in automation project execution, implement bug fixes, and contribute to system improvements under senior guidance.

The role involves after-hours support and close collaboration with a team to troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, drives, and networked control systems, while creating thorough documentation and backups.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree preferred.
• Entry level to three years of experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Ability to pass pre-employment testing in the discipline.
• Willingness to learn and multi-task.
• Effective communication and time management.
• Experience with PLCs or control systems (Siemens/Modicon/Allen-Bradley) preferred.
• Experience with data acquisition systems (AVEVA PI/ibaPDA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for control systems throughout the facility including after-hours support.
• Troubleshoot and debug PLCs, HMIs, drives, ladder logic, and industrial networks.
• Assist in analyzing technical issues and proposing solutions.
• Assist in designing and implementing intuitive HMIs for operators.
• Create and maintain documentation of controls programs and changes.
• Create and maintain backups of critical PLCs, HMIs, and PCs.
• Establish strong relationships with stakeholders and communicate clearly.
