Job summary

The Automation Technician at Chobani Norton Shores is responsible for diagnosing and fixing electrical and automation issues across the facility, delivering timely, vetted solutions and strong in-house support. You will work with automation engineers, train operations staff, and share best practices to improve plant performance.

Candidates should have an associates degree in controls/automation and 3–5 years of PLC, instrumentation, and electrical experience, with knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLCs

Qualifications

• Associates degree in controls/automation or related preferred.
• 3-5 years of electrical, PLC and instrumentation experience in an industrial facility.
• Knowledge of PLC systems troubleshooting and programming focused on Allen Bradley PLC.
• General knowledge of HMI systems Rockwell FactoryTalk View ME/SE or Inductive Automation Ignition.
• Ability to train and transfer knowledge to others.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical systems.
• Identify root cause by observing mechanical systems and devices; use testing instrumentation.
• Provide maintenance break/fix support and work with Automation Engineers on repairs.
• Serve as automation and controls domain expert on local project teams and deliver training.
• Provide high-level technical support for complex automation and electrical issues.
• Redline all automation programs and documentation including PLC/HMI programming and drawings.
• Assist with other plant members in developing and championing programs and projects.
• Seek out best practices and share with the organization.
• Share knowledge within facility and peer groups.
• Follow Chobani safety and GMP procedures.
