Job summary

Chobani is seeking an Automation Technician to assess and resolve technical problems across the facility, delivering timely, vetted solutions and working closely with automation engineers.

You will train operators, document changes, and support safety and GMP practices while collaborating with diverse teams. The role requires PLC/HMI knowledge, electrical diagrams, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in controls/automation or related preferred.
• 3–5 years of electrical, PLC and instrumentation experience working in an industrial facility.
• Knowledge of PLC systems troubleshooting and programming specifically focused on Allen Bradley PLC
• General knowledge of HMI systems focused on Rockwell Factory Talk View ME/SE or Inductive Automation Ignition
• Broad knowledge of automation and electrical devices and equipment
• Intermediate knowledge of personal computers and windows operating systems
• Ability to use electrical diagrams, process flow diagrams, piping, and instrumentation diagrams
• Ability to effectively cooperate with personnel of different backgrounds and skill level
• Ability to train and transfer knowledge to others
• Create and maintain relevant documentation
• Prioritize numerous tasks given time constraints and ensure tasks are completed

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical systems
• Identify root causes by observing mechanical systems and use testing instrumentation
• Provide maintenance break/fix support for automation issues
• Serve as automation and controls domain expert on local project teams
• Deliver training to operations and other groups as needed
• Serve as a high‑level technical support resource for complex automation and electrical issues
• Redline automation programs and documentation (PLC, HMI, drawings, P&IDs)
• Assist with developing and championing programs and projects
• Share best practices with the organization
• Follow safety and GMP procedures
