Job summary

EMCOR Services Mesa Energy in California is seeking an Automation Technician III to inspect, test, adjust, and repair electric, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic automation devices and systems. It will diagnose malfunctions and perform preventative maintenance while mentoring and coaching other automation technicians.

You will work on chiller, boiler, AHU, pumping and energy solutions projects, analyze designs for controls implementation, and interface with customers at supervisory levels.

Qualifications

• Eight years of direct automation experience with control systems and programming required.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent field experience.
• Working knowledge of at least three HVAC controls systems (Delta, JCI or Andover).
• Ability to interface with customers at a supervisory and management level.
• Engineering skills include electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and computer programming.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with control system architecture design, programming or maintenance desired.
• Good computer skills, understanding of controls networking.
• A valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Understand the design and intent of mechanical equipment and systems (Chiller, Boiler, Custom AHU’s, Primary/Secondary pumping, Variable flow Chilled water plants, Clean Room Applications, Demand Response, and Energy solutions).
• Analyze systems and develop scope of work for controls implementation.
• Monitor, identify and diagnose potential problems using computer workstations and on-site observations.
• Interface with the installation or maintenance team members to execute installations, repairs or modifications of controlled systems and equipment.
• Give technical presentations on building automation, controls, and emerging technology.
• Locate defective or non-operational components in new and existing systems, using test equipment and programming knowledge.

Job Summary

The Automation Technician III will inspect, test, adjust and repair new or existing electric, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic automation devices, and systems. It will also diagnose the cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and perform preventative and corrective maintenance. Automation Technician III will also be responsible for coaching and mentoring other automation technicians.

Compensation Range: $46 - $56 per hour
