EMCOR Services Mesa Energy guides and maintains advanced automation for HVAC and energy systems. The Automation Technician III inspects, tests, and repairs complex control devices, diagnosing failures and implementing corrective actions.

They mentor junior technicians, analyze system design, and develop scopes for controls projects. A strong background in electrical/mechanical engineering and HVAC controls is required.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent field experience.
• 8+ years direct automation experience with control systems and programming.
• Working knowledge of HVAC control systems (JCI, Honeywell, Niagara).
• Ability to interface with customers at supervisory/management level.
• Engineering knowledge in electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and programming.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with control system architecture, programming, or maintenance.
• Good computer skills and controls networking knowledge.
• Valid driver’s license.

Job Summary

The Automation Technician III will inspect, test, adjust and repair new or existing electric, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic automation devices, and systems. It will also diagnose the cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and perform preventative and corrective maintenance. Automation Technician III will also be responsible for coaching and mentoring other automation technicians.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Understand the design and intent of mechanical equipment and systems (Chiller, Boiler, Custom AHU’s, Primary/Secondary pumping, Variable flow Chilled water plants, Clean Room Applications, Demand Response, and Energy solutions).
• Analyze systems and develop scope of work for controls implementation.
• Monitor, identify and diagnose potential problems using computer workstations and on-site observations.
• Interface with the installation or maintenance team members to execute installations, repairs or modifications of controlled systems and equipment.
• Give technical presentations on building automation, controls, and emerging technology.
• Able to locate defective or non-operational components in new and existing systems, using test equipment and programming knowledge.

• Working knowledge of at least one HVAC controls systems (preferably JCI, Honeywell, or other Niagara-based systems)
• Ability to interface with customers at a supervisory and management level.
• Engineering skills required include knowledge of electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and computer programming.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with control system architecture design, programing, or maintenance desired.
• Good computer skills, understanding of controls networking.
• A valid driver’s license.
