Job summary

HTS Engineering Ltd. seeks an Automation Technician III to inspect, test, and repair automation devices and systems, including electrical, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic components.

The role involves diagnosing failures and performing preventative maintenance, plus coaching other technicians. The ideal candidate brings extensive automation experience, familiarity with HVAC control systems, and the ability to communicate with customers at senior levels.

Qualifications

• Eight years of direct automation experience with control systems and programming.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field experience.
• Working knowledge of at least three HVAC controls systems (Delta, JCI or Andover).
• Ability to interface with customers at a supervisory and management level.
• Engineering skills include electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics and programming.

Job description

The Automation Technician III will inspect, test, adjust and repair new or existing electric, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic automation devices, and systems. It will also diagnose the cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and perform preventative and corrective maintenance. Automation Technician III will also be responsible for coaching and mentoring other automation technicians.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Understand the design and intent of mechanical equipment and systems (Chiller, Boiler, Custom AHU’s, Primary/Secondary pumping, Variable flow Chilled water plants, Clean Room Applications, Demand Response, and Energy solutions).
• Analyze systems and develop scope of work for controls implementation.
• Monitor, identify and diagnose potential problems using computer workstations and on-site observations.

Qualifications:

• Minimum eight (8) years of direct automation experience with control systems and programing required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent field experience.
• Working knowledge of at least three HVAC controls systems (preferably Delta, JCI or Andover)
• Ability to interface with customers at a supervisory and management level.
• Engineering skills required include knowledge of electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and computer programming.
