Job summary

Dee Zee, Inc. in Des Moines, IA seeks a maintenance technician to set up and maintain electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems on production equipment.

You will install process control and robotic equipment, perform preventative maintenance, update records, and troubleshoot issues in collaboration with the operations team.

An associate degree in a related engineering field and 2–4 years of experience are preferred; PLC and HMI programming skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering or robotics preferred
• 2–4 years related experience preferred
• Proficient in PLC and HMI programming

Responsibilities

• Modify PLC and robot programs
• Review work orders with operators to identify issues
• Study blueprints and manuals to determine installation procedures
• Set up and test industrial equipment
• Troubleshoot, repair and calibrate industrial machines
• Maintain equipment logs of performance and repairs
• Calibrate testing instruments to specs
• Coordinate with teammates during installations
• Advise management on customer satisfaction and product improvements
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks
• Test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions
• Inspect components for defects
• Design and troubleshoot PLC and control circuits with layouts
• Program robot sequences
• Decide majority of program decisions
• Stop production line if nonconformance occurs
