Job summary

WesTech is seeking an Automation Technician 2 to provide hands-on automation support for Operations, Rentals, Pilots, Startup, and Commissioning in Salt Lake City, UT. The role requires troubleshooting PLCs/HMIs, instrumentation, networking, and electrical controls while adhering to WesTech standards.

You will support startup and commissioning, validate I/O, test alarms, and assist with tests like FAT. Travel about 40-60% to customer sites and deployments is expected.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years in industrial automation, controls, instrumentation, or startup/commissioning.
• Ability to read electrical drawings, control schematics, I/O docs, network diagrams.
• Strong problem solving, communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to operations and customer support requests and drive issues to resolution.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, networks, and electrical controls onsite and remotely.
• Support facilities, rental assets, pilots, outages and startup/commissioning activities.
• Perform startup, commissioning checks, I/O validation, alarm/testing, and sequencing verification.
• Assist in panel testing and Factory Acceptance Testing; verify system functionality.
