Job summary

Ring Container Technologies in Minnesota is seeking a qualified Automation Technician to perform preventive and predictive maintenance on automation systems. You will design, program, troubleshoot, and improve automated machinery and computer systems in a clean, climate-controlled environment.

The role requires an associate degree or equivalent with PLC/robotics knowledge, strong math and schematics reading skills, and the ability to train others.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in technology preferred, or 3+ years' related experience.
• Knowledge of PLCs, robotics, servos/VFDs, vision cameras, RFID scanners.
• Strong written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read schematics and use precision measuring tools.
• Interpersonal skills for training teammates.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on automation systems.
• Design, program, troubleshoot and improve automated machinery.
• Repair electrical components like switches, motors, relays, sensors.
• Create new automation technologies for manufacturing processes.
• Draw detailed wiring or PLC/structure schematics.
• Test and install industrial controls and robotics systems.
• Maintain and troubleshoot industrial networks and PLC/HMI.
• Lead root cause analyses to reduce downtime; travel as needed.
