Job summary

Procter & Gamble is seeking a Plant Technician at the DYMC Dayton Mix Center to maintain and troubleshoot automated equipment and support 24/7 operations. Shift rotations include 6a-2:30p, 2p-10:30p, and 10p-6:30a, with potential overtime on weekends/holidays.

Starting pay is $22.95 per hour, with increases after probation to $26.60 per hour. Successful candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of technical manufacturing experience, strong mechanical skills, and

Job Description Updated Job Description as of 5/08/2026 Starting base pay is $22.95. After successfully completing probation, base pay increases to $26.60.

Operations Schedule

This site operates continuously 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Scope of Work
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting automated equipment included but not limited to autonomous robots responsible for case, layer and/or pallet movements
  • Performing preventive maintenance and calibrations on equipment
  • Troubleshooting, monitoring, & improving equipment and systems
  • Analyzing trends and technical data to gain insights of the equipment and systems, and identify issues proactively
  • Building technical skills in others
Work Hours

Able to work 8 hour shifts, shifts could vary. Rotating Shift- 1-1-1-2 Monday-Friday (1st shift 6a-2:30p, and 2nd shift 2p-10:30p) Straight Second Shift- 2p-10:30p Monday-Friday Straight Third Shift- 10p-6:30a Sunday-Thursday Flexibility: Technicians may work rotating shifts. Overtime: Overtime may be required on weekends and/or holidays.

Job Qualifications Requirements to Apply
  • Minimum of a high school diploma/GED & 2-years of technical experience in manufacturing or like industry preferred
  • Applied mechanical skills in an industrial environment
  • Should be knowledgeable about different types of machinery and equipment commonly used in manufacturing including various types of engines, pumps, compressors, conveyors, gears, bearings, and other mechanical components. Understanding the working principles, construction, and operational characteristics of these systems enables technicians to diagnose problems and perform maintenance or repairs.
  • Proficiency in using a wide range of tools and instruments is essential for a mechanical technician. They should be well-versed in the use of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and precision instruments for tasks such as disassembly, assembly, measurement, alignment, and testing.
  • System Integration: In addition to understanding individual components, a mechanical technician should have a grasp of how various components interact within a larger system. This includes knowledge of system integration, control mechanisms, automation, and interconnections with electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems. Understanding system behavior and interdependence is crucial for effective troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting, problem-solving, issue resolution, and root cause analysis for mechanical issues
  • Interpersonal and teamwork skills

Successful completion of a Technical Interview will be required as part of the application process.

Upon hire, you will be expected to remain in the ALPS department for at least 18 months before being eligible for roles in alternate departments.
