Job summary

United States Cold Storage is seeking an Automation Technician I to support an automated material handling system. The role focuses on ensuring ASRS and related components run efficiently, diagnosing errors (physical and IT), and using computer applications to keep WMS/WCS communication and inventory positioning accurate.

Responsibilities include monitoring WCS, troubleshooting errors, conducting preventative maintenance, and contributing to continuous improvement teams.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of computer systems; experience with WMS/WCS is preferred.
• Familiar with PLC and conveyor maintenance.
• Strong electrical systems understanding; safety minded and detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Monitor WCS interface for faults and clear issues per SOPs.
• Troubleshoot errors using WMS and WCS to ensure accurate inventory handling.
• Monitor pallet storage and consolidation to optimize space.
• Escalate system outages and coordinate with operations and vendors.
• Perform preventative maintenance on automation equipment as assigned.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for warehouse automation.
