Job summary

Aermican Orthodontics seeks an automation-focused technician to join our manufacturing floor. The role involves integrating robotics, vision systems, and PLCs into production cells, and building clean electrical panels.

You will drive improvements on existing equipment, troubleshoot with maintenance, and update schematics as needed. Candidates should have a high school diploma, an associate degree in electronics or related field, and at least 3 years in manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial automation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and programming skills for PLCs (Omron experience a plus).
  • Proficient with HMIs, motion control drives, vision systems and robotics.
  • Proficient with PC-based systems including networking.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate robotics, vision systems, part feeders, PLCs into an automated production cell.
  • Layout and build electrical panels/equipment neatly.
  • Drive continuous improvement on existing automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Partner with maintenance technicians to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Create/update electrical schematics as needed.
  • Implement safety improvements such as light curtains and guarded interfaces.
  • Provide input for functional specifications for new equipment builds.
  • Perform additional responsibilities to achieve business objectives.

Job description

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Ability to integrate robotics, vision systems, part feeders, PLC's, etc. into an automated production cell
  • Ability to layout and build electrical panels/equipment in a neat and orderly manner
  • Drive continuous improvement activity on existing automated manufacturing equipment (upgrading controls, rewiring/replacing control panels, and integration of new equipment)
  • Partner with maintenance technicians to troubleshoot and correct equipment issues on the manufacturing floor
  • Create new electrical schematics and updated existing schematics as needed
  • Implement safety improvements to machines such as light curtains, interlocked guards, and ergonomic operator interface buttons
  • Provides input pertaining to the development of functional specifications for new equipment builds. Partners with manufacturing engineers and equipment vendors on best practices
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma
  • Minimum Associates degree in electronics, electromechanical or controls related field.
  • 3 years of experience in manufacturing
  • High level of proficiency with troubleshooting and programming of PLC's (Omron experience is a plus)
  • High level of proficiency with implementation and programming of HMIs, motion control drives, vision systems, and Robotics
  • High Level of proficiency with PC Based systems including networking systems
  • Mustbe able to lift up to 40 pounds
