Job summary

Prescott Metal, Inc. / EAM is seeking a Technician to oversee all aspects of Custom Assembly Automation—from mechanical and electrical assembly to installation and on-site service.

The role includes traveling to customer locations to install and troubleshoot new machines, and documenting changes with engineering and BOMs. You will work closely with engineers to develop new automation systems, analyze test results, and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• Experience with mechanical and electrical assembly work.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical blueprints or schematics.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites for installation and service.
• Documentation of changes and BOM updates with engineering and purchasing.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical components and electrical subsystems.

Summary

This position is responsible for all aspects of assembly, troubleshooting, development, installation, and service of Custom Assembly Automation. Travel to customer locations to install and troubleshoot new machines. In addition, the Technician plays a critical role in the job documentation, quality, and eventually professionally representing EAM/Prescott in the field.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Mechanical and electrical assembly.
• Understanding of mechanical and electrical blueprints.
• Documentation of changes with engineering and purchasing Bill of Materials (BOMs).

• Automation setup, startup, troubleshoot, and debug.
• Assembly of mechanical components, bearings, pneumatic systems, etc.
• Installation of electrical sensors, Programmable Logic Controller, motor drives, vision systems, etc.

• Maintain accurate BOM changes for all jobs.
• Maintain accurate time logging for jobs.
• Work closely with engineers to develop new automation systems.
• Analyze and record test results and prepare written testing documentation.

• Test performance of electro-mechanical assemblies, using test instruments such as multi-meters and electronic controls testing equipment.

• Prioritizing tasks based on production and service needs.
• Miscellaneous duties as assigned to aid Prescott Metal/EAM to achieve its goals.

Installation And Service

• Assist with Service and Spare parts sales.
• Assist with technical phone support.
• Machine setup and run up for customer approval process.
• Automation debugging at customer facility.
• Working closely with engineers to develop new automation systems.
• Customer training.
