Job summary

CBRE, a global leader in commercial real estate services, seeks a Technical Manager focusing on automation. You will serve as the technical specialist for advanced automated material handling and robotics systems, guiding technicians and driving continuous improvement in maintenance practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred with 3–5 years in industrial automation, robotics or mechatronics.
• Hands-on experience with ASRS, AMRs/AGVs, conveyors, vision systems and controls.
• Ability to train and guide technicians without formal supervision.
• Strong electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and controls troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with CMMS, preventive/predictive maintenance and documentation standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical resource for the automation technician team with real-time guidance.
• Lead advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for automation systems.
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for automation assets.
• Train technicians on diagnostics, OEM procedures, schematics, CMMS documentation and safety.
• Coordinate with OEMs, service providers, and internal stakeholders for upgrades.
• Maintain accurate as-built drawings, configurations, and maintenance procedures.
• Stay current with emerging automation technologies and recommend improvements.
• Communicate technical matters to client operations and facility leadership.
• Respond to escalated issues to restore operations quickly and safely.
• Model CBRE RISE values while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Identify and resolve moderately complex to advanced technical issues affecting performance.
