CBRE's Global Workplace Solutions Local is seeking a Senior Automated Technician to support the Maintenance and Production Support team in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining advanced automated material handling systems.
You will work with ASRS crane systems, AMRs, autonomous forklifts, Cognex vision systems, and related conveyors, mentoring junior technicians while contributing to continuous improvement in a fast-moving facility.

As a Senior Automated Technicianat CBRE, you will play a critical role supporting the client’s Maintenance andProduction Support team by diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining advancedautomated material handling systems. This position combines mechanical repair, controlsknowledge, preventative maintenance, mechatronics, and other skill sets neededin an automated production environment. You will work with Automated Storageand Retrieval System (ASRS) crane racking systems, self-guided materialhandlers, Kuka Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), Gideon self-guided forklifts, JBT,Cognex automated camera/dock scanners, and related conveyor and pneumaticequipment. Beyond keeping equipment reliable, you will help mentor othertechnicians and contribute to continuous improvement of the maintenance team.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Promote a safe working environment by strictlyfollowing all safety procedures, using proper PPE, and adhering to CBRE and site-specificsafety standards for automated equipment.
Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on ASRScrane systems, AMRs, autonomous forklifts, vision/scanning systems, conveyors,and related controls, documenting all work thoroughly in Maximo.
Troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, pneumatic,and controls issues on material handling SGV’s and ASRS systems, includingmotors, drives, sensors, photo-eyes, relays, robotic components, and Cognexvision systems.
Install, commission, maintain, and repair automatedsystems by reading and interpreting blueprints, electrical schematics,technical diagrams, and OEM manuals to diagnose and resolve failures quickly.
Track and manage maintenance inventory whilemaintaining positive working relationships across Operations and facilitydepartments.
Support continuous improvement efforts and mentor othertechnicians.
Work flexible schedules as required to supportoperational needs.
Technical degree or equivalent certification inMechatronics, Industrial Automation, Robotics, or a closely related discipline.
Demonstrated experience supporting high-volumeautomated distribution environments, with direct exposure to ASRS cranesystems, autonomous mobile robots, or self-guided industrial vehicles.
Strong working knowledge of diagnosing and resolvingissues on complex automated equipment using electrical schematics, mechanicaldrawings, and OEM technical documentation.
Familiarity with industrial controls, sensor networks,and vision systems (Cognex or comparable platforms a plus).
Comfortable working within a CMMS (Maximo) environmentto manage work orders, parts, and maintenance history.
Prior hands-on involvement with robotic platforms orelectromechanical systems in manufacturing settings.
Ability to guide less experienced technicians andcollaborate effectively with operations teams in a fast-moving facility.
Work takes place in anindustrial manufacturing facility and requires consistent physical capabilitythroughout the shift. Technicians can expect extended periods of standing andwalking on concrete flooring, plus regular bending, kneeling, crouching, overheadreaching, and body rotation. The position involves lifting and carrying toolsor parts that typically weigh about 20 pounds (with occasional loads up toroughly 40 pounds), moving carts or wheeled equipment that may exceed 100pounds, and positioning bulky or irregularly shaped components. Good manualdexterity and hand-eye coordination are necessary. The environment may presenttight or awkward work spaces, airborne dust, temperature variations, elevatednoise and vibration levels, uneven surfaces, work at height, and restrictedaccess areas under or behind machinery.
