Job summary

Prime Controls, L.P. is seeking an Automation Specialist II in Mesa, AZ to design control system details, configure instrumentation, and prepare for implementation and testing.

You will lead small projects, develop PLC/HMI templates, and create training materials for operations and maintenance personnel. The role requires 4 years in industrial controls, a BE/BSc in Mechatronics/EE/related field, and proficiency with PLC programming and HMIs.

Qualifications

• 4 years industrial controls experience in architecture, engineering or construction (AEC) or similar field.
• Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics, Computer, Electrical Engineering or related discipline or equivalent industrial controls experience.
• 4 years of PLC programming experience.
• Proficiency with Allen Bradley equipment and systems.
• Proficiency in PLC programming including ladder logic, function block and structured text.
• Familiarity with Ethernet/IP networking.
• Experience with HMIs.

Responsibilities

• Design control system details, instrumentation configuration, preparation for implementation, testing, documentation and training.
• Develop overall architecture and communication strategy between control system elements.
• Lead small projects, build PLC and HMI templates, develop PLC programs and HMIs.
• Develop hardware and software test plans and simulation logic for PLC/HMI testing.
• Create training plans and materials for operations and maintenance personnel.
• Coordinate with management of installation team to ensure adherence to processes.
• Test installed systems to verify functionality and diagnose issues.
• Train customers on client-specific system integration software.
