Qualifications

• 3+ years of packaging equipment experience.
• Ability to utilize AutoCAD to generate plant layouts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good interpersonal and conflict management skills.
• Technical skills: MS Office proficiency.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop and drive the sales of packaging equipment.
• Lead training for the sales force on new packaging technologies and automation systems.
• Generate packaging equipment and material handling solutions via plant surveys and opportunity identification.
• Build relationships with plant engineers, operation leaders, and equipment buyers.
• Create accurate plant layouts and conceptual drawings for projects requiring engineering work.
• Identify opportunities in packaging automation and provide sales-oriented solutions.
• Maintain awareness of market opportunities, trends, changes, and threats to IPS Packaging.
• Execute other duties as assigned by leadership.

Job description

The Automation Specialist reports to the Automation Division Manager and is responsible for developing and driving the sales of packaging equipment.

• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the packaging equipment industry with basic knowledge of packaging materials and sources for equipment and consumables
• Lead the activities for training the sales force in the new technologies and functionalities with regard to packaging equipment and automation systems
• Generate packaging equipment and material handling solutions by conducting plant surveys, identifying opportunities, and proceeding to specify the proper equipment for the challenge with existing and new customers
• Build strong relationships with plant engineers, operation leaders, and equipment buyers with existing and new customers
• Create accurate plant layouts and conceptual drawings for projects that require a higher degree of engineering than an equipment brochure
• Identify opportunities relatedto packaging automation and provide solutions that contribute to the sales and profit generated from existing and new customers
• Identify opportunities in all areas of packaging and provide solutions that contribute to the sales and profit generated from existing and new customers
• Maintain an awareness of marketplace opportunities, trends, changes, and threats to the success of IPS Packaging
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Automation Division Manager and/or Chief Product Officer (CPO)

• 3+ years of Packaging Equipment experience
• Ability to utilize AutoCAD to generate plant layouts
