Job summary

Bruker is seeking an Automation Software Engineer for on-site work in San Jose, CA. The role focuses on designing and developing image processing and hardware control software for TSOM surface metrology applications, enabling precise data acquisition and analysis.

You will collaborate with scientists, application specialists, and engineers across the lifecycle, implementing SECS/GEM equipment automation and maintaining motors and stages in a Windows environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of automated manufacturing semiconductor equipment experience.
• Proficiency with SECS/GEM protocol and tool characterization.
• Strong development skills in C++ and/or C# in Windows desktop environments.
• Demonstrated ability to work with geographically distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement equipment automation following SECS/GEM and GEM 300 standards for optical profiler tools.
• Develop and maintain hardware control for motors, stages, and other components.
• Write clean, reliable C++ and/or C# code for software controls.
• Collaborate with scientists, application specialists, and global teams across the project lifecycle.
• Occasional travel may be required.
